Gooseneck Solar installation

Hey Guys! Oh, have we got a story for you this week. If you don’t already know (Pointing to the ones who dont follow us on instagram), we worked on a Gooseneck! This was a pretty big job, and took a few days of hard work but it was all worth it.

Moving on to the juicy stuff! What we did:

  • Installed 2x Thunder Solar Panels 120W
  • Solar Regulator
  • Anderson Plug to Gooseneck
  • Anderson Plug via Isolator on Vehicle

So, first up, the Solar. We installed 2x 120W Solar Panels on the roof, mounted with feet. Solar panels are a great money saver as you may know, and also come with a few extra benefits up their sleeve: super quite – No noisy generators, clean – does not pollute the environment and most importantly free energy while you’re camping or caravaning. Now, this basically means with the right setup, you can go anywhere without sacrificing the necessities like fridge and mobile devices.

The Solar Panels also require a solar regulator which protects the batteries from overcharge, regulating the voltage and currents running through the solar panels to the batteries.

Now we also installed an Anderson Plug to the Gooseneck, and the customers Vehicle. The Anderson Plug is essentially a charge circuit that runs wires from your caravan to your vehicle, Vice Versa. This connection is most commonly used to charge the batteries in the caravan or trailer while driving.

On a side note, this was a great job to do, huge caravan and a little fiddly in some stages. This customer is all set to run with their horses.
