Today we completed a Ford Ranger XLT Towing Set Up

For this Ford Ranger XLT towing set up, we installed: 

• Hayman Reece Guardian IQ Electric Brake Controller (Customer Supplied) 
• Grey Anderson Plug
• Round 7 Pin Socket

This customer supplied their own Hayman Reece Guardian IQ Electric Brake Controller for this install. The Electric Brake controller is an essential part of any modern-day towing setup. It works by monitoring how hard the vehicle is braking and applies a proportional amount of braking to the trailer to suit that application at the time. 

The grey Anderson plug is used for the charging circuit that runs cables from the vehicle to the caravan. This connection used to charge the batteries in the caravan via the car’s starting battery while driving. We also fitted a round 7 pin plug to the towbar at the request of the customer.
