Volvo A40D Motorhome Enerdrive Lithium Battery System

We recently worked on this Volvo A40D Motor Home, installing an Enerdrive Lithium Battery System, here’s what we fitted:

• Enerdrive ePower B-TEC 200AH Lithium Battery
• Enerdrive 40A DC2DC+ Battery Charger
• Enerdrive ePOWER 40A Smart Charger
• Enerdrive 200W Solar Panel 

The Install:

To start with, we removed the existing AGM system from the motorhome and stripped back all existing wiring to begin the install of the new system.  

We then mounted the 40A DC2DC+ Battery Charger under the bed and wired it to operate via the start battery to charge and maintain the lithium battery. The ePOWER 40A Smart Charger was also mounted under the bed to operate via 240V to also charge and maintain the lithium battery. 

After that, we fitted the Enerdrive ePower B-TEC 200AH Lithium Battery in the same location under the bed. To do this we used a custom fabricated battery tray fastened to the floor of the vehicle. 

The technician then replaced the existing faulty solar panel and fitted the 200W Enerdrive Solar Panel. This was then wired into the DC2DC Charger and programmed to suit the lithium system. 

Finally, the various accessories were all wired up and the rest of the existing wiring and fuses were tested and tidied up.
