Recently we carried out a Ford Ranger PX3 Dual Battery System Repair

For this Ford Ranger PX3 Dual Battery System Repair, we had a bit of a unique situation. The customer had a dual battery system fitted elsewhere, and it caught on fire! So we were charged with identifying the cause of the issue and repairing the system. This included an extensive inspection and diagnosis along with a full replacement of the dual battery system.

Here’s what we installed:

  • 2x Sentry 125Ah AGM Batteries
  • Redarc BCDC1225 25A Battery Charger
  • Grey & Red Anderson Plugs
  • Cigarette Sockets
  • Voltmeter

The process started with two technicians completing a thorough inspection of the system. Upon inspection it was discovered that some wiring had been run incorrectly in the original system which caused a major fault. This wiring fault had caused a short, destroying the auxiliary batteries, melting all auxiliary wiring and burning the Redarc BCDC charger.

As a result of the extensive damage, the entire system had to be replaced.

To start with all existing wiring was removed and replaced. From there we extended the wiring to the Red Anderson Plug for solar input to the Redarc BCDC Charger. From there the BCDC Charger was mounted and wired up along with the sockets on the control panel and Grey Anderson Plugs for powering the fridge. Finally the batteries were mounted, clamped down and wired in.
