Recently we fitted out a Toyota Hilux TRD with a custom under bonnet Dual Battery System and Electric Brake Controller
On this Toyota Hilux TRD Dual Battery System we installed:
- Redarc BCDC1225D Battery Charger
- RACQ 105ah Battery Charger
- Cigarette Socket
- Voltmeter
- Redarc TowPro Elite
- Grey Anderson Plug
- 12 Pin Plug
To start the under bonnet dual battery install, we fitted an RACQ 105ah AGM battery and fitted a battery tray and a hold-down clamp so it’s secured in place. Next, the technician installed the Redarc BCDC 1225D to charge the auxiliary battery.
In the tub of the vehicle, we installed a 12V cigarette socket and voltmeter so the customer can power their accessories and monitor their auxiliary battery levels.

On the towbar of the vehicle, we installed a grey Anderson plug, via an isolator off the start battery. This allows the customer can charge the batteries in the caravan while towing. We also fitted a 12 pin plug with fridge wiring, so the customer can keep their fridge powered up while travelling.
