Review Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds

by | Mar 23, 2017 | Camping, Campsite Reviews | 0 comments

Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds is without a doubt our favourite non-beach place to camp. We have been there four times in the last couple of years. It takes just over one hour from Buddina on the Sunshine Coast.

There are loads of camping options, in the bush, down by the billabong, in open fields or our favourite in “Jim Kerr Camp” near the fort, flying fox and BMX track.

Here’s a quick snapshot of why the kids love it

  1. The pirate ship playground – no words required, just check out the photos.
2. BMX Track – a great small track for little kids to ride around
3. Flying Fox – Fun for the kids and dad loved the workout running up and down the hill after our two year old.
4. Farm Yard / Petting Yard – we have fed calf’s, chickens and lambs. The kids are allowed into the farmyard to pat the animals
5. Horse and Carriage Rides operate on the weekend’s. On our very first trip to Cobb and Co one of our boys went on a horse ride.
6. Show / Re-enactment – the bush rangers show was defiantly a highlight. There was a robbery, shoot out and hay bale set alight. The kids and adults loved it.
7. Billabong to swim in – nothing better than jumping in the billabong or paddling around on a kayak on a warm summer afternoon.
8. Train Ride – we haven’t been since this started but we are told it is great fun and we can’t wait to take the kids back. Photo credit to Cobb and Co’s Facebook page

Here’s why the parents love Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds

1. Kids entertainment – as per above, so many things to do to keep them occupied

2. Dog-Friendly – our pooch Oscar loves coming along camping and roaming around with the kids in the wide open spaces.

3. Campfires are permitted – we love having a camp fire. Cooking a pot roast and marshmallows at night while star gazing is all a part of the country camping experience.

4. Wide Open Spaces, the camp sites are numbered and they are super roomy so your not on top of your neighbour, lots are in the shade of big trees

5. Option for luxury glamping. If you have friends or family that don’t have camping gear they can hire one of the luxury options. The smaller luxury tents can be moved to the site you are camping at. The bigger options (Cabin Tents & Breezeway Tents) are in set locations but offer cooking facilities.
6. Great Camp Kitchens – there are two on the property and it’s great to use to wash up in there or cook a BBQ
7. Toilets and Showers – there are luxury drop toilets (solar power lighting, deodoriser & mirror) scattered around the camp grounds. Then showers and flushing toilets a short walk at near the farm yard.
8. Six Mile Creek runs along the back of the property and it is nice to head down there and explore the creek and have a swim.
9. Mothar Mountain Rock Pools (5min drive) there is one rock pool that is deep enough to swim in. The water was really cold but the kids always have lots of fun scrambling over the rocks, exploring and catching bugs
